What Is a Running Assessment?
A running assessment is a one-on-one session with an Osteopath trained in biomechanics and injury management & prevention. We start by getting to know you as a runner — your training history, weekly running volume, your running goals, previous or current injuries, and any relevant lifestyle factors.
Biomechanical Analysis & Technique Review
We then perform a full biomechanical assessment to understand how your body moves and identify any imbalances or movement patterns that might be affecting your running performance. We may also observe and assess your running technique, and based on our findings, suggest gait retraining strategies to potentially enhance your performance and/or reduce injury risk.
Personalised Strength & Mobility Rehab
Following your assessment, we prescribe individualised mobility and strength exercises that target the areas most important for your running. This helps reduce injury risk and improve overall running efficiency and proper technique. Every program is tailored specifically to your body and your running goals.
